Dear Smitha,

I would like to share my own view about your question raised.

Being into renewal, I am convicted by the fact that my LORD is a true living
GOD and loves me deeply. Every action, thought, word reminds me that I am a
disciple of my JESUS who is abiding in me. We know the mercy of our LORD, that
HE gave HIS only begotten son for our sake, our sins. HE is most pinched at
the time when we donot obey HIS commandments and use our will against HIM.
When HE can love us unconditionally, forget and forgive our sins, so faithful
to us all the time.... what should be our response to HIS love. We need not
look at the loop holes in the law or try to justify our actions, but think,
how much HE is pinched because of me, my actions and my thoughts. Is what I am
doing makes my LORD happy or causes pain?

The devil who came in the form of a snake taught man how to commit sin without
violating the law. He taught Eve that it was not a sin to look at the fruit of
the tree that stood in the centre of the garden. God never told them not to
look at that tree. God had told them not to eat. So the devil convinced Eve
that looking at that tree or its fruit would not be a sin or violation of law.
She looked at it. Perhaps an innocent look. But sin began right from that
look. "So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was
a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desired to make one wise she took
of its fruit and ate." (Gen 3:6) Similarly, even today that liar misleads many
people. The law says not to commit adultery. If I look at a woman with lust,
will it become adultery? To a man who has completely discarded drinking, the
devil gives the temptation to look at the liquor bottle with desire. During
the Lenten days, if an individual vows to God to forsake fish and meat, the
devil gives the temptation to look at the dishes he discarded with desire.
Somehow, he sticks to his decision till the lent is over. Thereafter, with
increased desire he eats the foodstuff he had discarded during lent. Thus he
becomes a slave of the body. Further, there will be temptation to look at the
earth and worldly splendour with desire. All these are the initial steps to
pluck and eat the fruit.

Our destination is the Kingdom of heaven and for that we have to live a life
which is free of sin and avoid all situation which might lead to temptations.

Peace Of Jesus Christ be with all of you

Priya,
Baroda
