P.S.  Oh, and also, if !callback then we know predicate is not a
function, so we shouldn't need to then test it for function-ness with
jQuery.isFunction().

But I'm nit-picking.  I can see that having 'this' refer to the
current collection in the predicate is a useful thing to have...
