I dont know if i get what you want to do but
Try to add a success function to your ajaxsubmit function, lke this:
jQuery(form).ajaxSubmit({
                                       target: "#newTasks",
                                       success:function(html){

$.get('tasks.cfm',{},function(data){

$('#newTasks').html(data);
                                                      })
                                       }
                               });
