You won't be restricted on what you can say. The fact that we may
have a large number of attendees does change the dynamics from a
gathering of 12. BOFs tend to have a core panel of experts -- vendors
as well as experienced implementors -- who can provide either
authoritative answers or informed opinions (depending on the type of
question). Other attendees pipe in when they have something useful to
contribute. This way you get good answers to questions ranging from why
something works like it does, to how many people are taking advantage of
certain features. My role presumably will be as moderator to make sure
the BOF doesn't dwell on the same question for over an hour.
