I'm not saying "I'm so good". I'm a beginner too. Been writing JSP for two
weeks now. But I'm not coming to the board asking for a complete sample
application that somebody else wrote so that I can plug it in and impress my
boss. People need to bring some specific questions to the board that will
give them a "push" not a complete sample application to plug in AFTER they
understand what the acronym JSP stands for. That goes on any board (besides
a beginner board) for any language/technology. There's enough dudes putting
JSP (or whatever) on their resume and then taking clients' money and
basically screwing them over because they don't know what they're talking
about. Then they come on the boards and try to get US to write their apps.
No "pushing" just "write my code so my client doesn't fire me." My clients
are so gun-shy and abused by the time I get to them that they trust me like
I'm the devil himself. Partly because somebody took their money and then
couldn't deliver. Anyway, enough of that whole line of whining.

When I come to the board it's with a SPECIFIC question that I have been
trying BY EVERY MEANS AVAILABLE for a reasonably long period of time to
figure out.

There's a difference between a "push" and "do all of my research and work
for me". You are right, I should shut up. But I'm not saying "everybody else
sucks" or "I'm so good." Just want to make that point.

I also try to do a little "tongue in cheek" and make a light-hearted joke
about it making fun of myself for being on my "soapbox". Everyone calm down.
Go back in your homes, there's nothing to see here people.

Scott
