Actually, just to add to your correct statements and suggestions for
comparing product A and B, I would add the following:

The same statements you make are applicable to the Profesional edition as
well (which is considerably less expensive) which supports the integrated
WebSphere Test Environment and Tomcat Test Environment works in Pro as well.
Furthermore, you can even download a free entry version, at both Pro and
Enterprise levels and apply the free Tomcat Test Environment to that as
well. I worked on both Test Environments amd built and led the intiative to
have it released in part to show that VisualAge for Java is not at all tied
to WebSphere at all.

So all in all, a free Enterprise Entry edition with Servlet, JSP and EJB
support in which the free Tomcat Test Environment can be applied seems like
a good deal to me :-)
