In the office we're using maven-ant-tasks to get the best of both worlds: we
use Ant (and some custom Ant tasks) to provide packaging, distribution, etc;
and Maven+WTP for a nice dev environment that just pretty much works out of the
box.
Using maven-ant-tasks in this case would also help, because you could just
migrate things gradually (or as much as you like) from Ant to Maven...
