Hi, It could be worth considering to enhance a Color chooser plugin a little bit and make it as OGR feature style editor. Idea of OGR styles is the same than with Color chooser (or MapInfo). A text string attribute defines styles for each feature. The syntax is simple
http://www.gdal.org/ogr/ogr_feature_style.html And why? Because if a shapefile contains an attribute named OGR_STYLE and values as OGR feature style strings then that shapefile can be used as a styled input layer for GDAL. For example it is possible to take a raster map and a styled shapefile and put them together into a georeferenced PDF. See some discussion at http://news.gmane.org/find-root.php?group=gmane.comp.gis.gdal.devel&article=31552 I do not believe there exists a GUI OGR style editor yet. OpenJUMP could be the first. -Jukka Rahkonen- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
