@stefan, Your point data would be most helpful. I didn't understand how I was going to load the database dump format into OpenJump.
@Paul, Could be, but Sascha seemed to think that this would require extensive modifications. I haven't looked into it myself. First I benchmark, then I look for bottle necks. It could be that the problem is something very simple. I won't know that until I duplicate it.
