Hi Stefan, For the icons I'd like to keep with more standard icons such as the Open folder icon for the Open File menu and toolbar rather than the + icon. If there are any graphic designers amongst us a slightly different folder icon for Open File v.s. Project would be nice.
At the moment the only place the old Load Data set is still in use is on the Right click category menu. I think that was for ArcSDE compatibility. We should also clean up all the other Add image layer etc plug-ins so that we only have the one Open File plugin, in the File menu, Toolbar and right click on Category. I'll let someone else take charge on deciding how that should be done. At some point I'd also like to change the Project file format to use the FileLayerLoader to load the files rather than the data sources directly. But that is a bigger piece of work that will take some time to decide on how that should work.
