Well I suppose if you want to just support MM regardless of poor marketing decisions one can always come up with a positive statement. But, MM is selling the same product to those early before release buyers, those that buy upon release and those who purchase late in the game.

Which customer benefits MM the most?
Which customer demonstrates loyalty?
Which customer is the least expensive to sell to?
Which customer is the most expensive to sell to?
Which customer would you prefer to keep?

Then, answer:
Which customer most deserves an incentive?
Meaning, I want to keep this customer,
I want to encourage (reward) their behavior.
