You don't need the -O option for portupgrade anymore once you're done the big 
upgrade. I really have no idea what's going on there, my suspicion is that 
for some reason on your system kdebase does not install libusb as a 
dependency although it depends on it. Did you install libusb in the meantime?

If not, go to the kdebase3 portdir, issue a make depends and report what 
happens.
