You need to remember to regularly rebuild or fetch an up-to-date index (make 
index (takes a long time) or make fetchindex (may be slightly outdated) 
in /usr/ports). 

Alternatively you can also switch to using portsnap (sysutils/portsnap) for 
updating your ports-tree - it will update the indices every time you run it 
to be consistent with the snapshot.
