Thanks for the tip - rehash did the trick! However, now portsnap is 
asking for a URL. . . :-S What should i give it? I 
checked /etc/portsnap.conf, but it's empty.

I returned the poor, innocent directory to it's original and pristine 
state (dwr-wr-wr-) ;-)
