Slippery slope.  Income tax was initially sold as a tax on the
rich. Look where we are now.  This cert will just lead to
regulation creep on homeschoolers.

The cert *does* turn people away.  It is just more noise to deal
with.

If they're turned off by such a small requirement, its for the best.
Teaching is *hard*.  Teaching a child who just isn't getting it
requires patience and tenacity.  If you don't have the fortitude to
take a test, you aren't capable of teaching.

It's not just taking a test. It's the requirement to pay more money out
of your own pocket just to be a teacher.

If you didn't see my other post, I applied for a certification. Part of
the process was to take classes at a cost of over $2000. The classes
would not have made me a better teacher. And there was no way to test
out. A system like that has scam written all over it.
