> This is how the Christofascists hijacked the > political machinery--from the bottom. I knew there was a "movement" but didn't know it was labelled or what that label was. FWIW, I know a couple who is quite devout and in the runup to the 2000 election, they said something like this: "we've already had a scholar for President, don't you think it is now time for a religious leader?" I said no and tried to explain how our country was founded by people, though religious, they were often persecuted in England for not being of the governments religious beliefs. They still voted for gwb twice. I'd also heard of a movement to try and reel in more youths into the religious sector but not heard how that was to occur. A month or two later this couple told me of their interest in becoming a "Big Brother" and for two years they tried this but ended up giving up. The kid was quite a handful but none the less, I believe this is probably one of the tactics used to "spread the word". Makes me wonder if Bush really did slip up when he used the word "crusade" one time regarding the "war on terrorism". If it was post-2004 then it probably was a PR blunder. If pre-2004, it could very well have been calculated by Rove or one of Cheney's people. Doug -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
