That's fine. I do rather well with commotion and noise too. Factory floor no prob, I can tune it out. But, for me, the TV is qualitatively different. Not only is it loud, it's grating and it's inane and the intelligence level it exudes is infuriating. Plus! I have a really hard time not paying attention to it. My usual tactic is to give in and stare at the TV and pay attention to it, and tune out my host. Once he or she realizes I'm not paying attention, I'll make a mild show of wresting my attention from the TV for a moment. It never works.
