That was the point of the Dilbert comic, although, since Adams didn't point
it out explicitly, I'm guessing that a lot of people just didn't get it.

He also made a joke about the PHB being upset that 40% of sick days we on
Monday or Friday.  He never explained why that was a weird thing to be
concerned about.

I'd actually be surprised if sick days really were spread out evenly.

Isn't Monday and Friday 40% of the work week? Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday being the other 60%? Sounds like an even distribution to me.
