I don't want to waste the space on the screen where Thunderbird has

I've unchecked all the boxes in the Account Settings dialog under
Junk, and in privacy preferences in the Junk tab. It doesn't seem to
make a difference. Anyone know a way to turn this off?
You can resize the subject, sender, and whatever fields you DO wish to
see, and then drag junk field in message status off to the right with
the mouse and then resize the fields again which you wish to see so that
the spam rating field is no longer visible. Similarly, you can
customize the toolbar (View->Toolbars->Customize) to remove the flame
icon if you wish.
Thanks. I don't have a problem with the toolbars or the columns in the
mailbox pane. It's the horizontal space with the yellow background where
the flame resides that's the problem, shown in the image I posted earlier:

The workaround of setting the threshold to a very high number might have
taken care of it.
