The pull you are talking about is very different from Doug implying that
Linux can technically do the job.

It's basically this. If someone has a Windows problem, they probably
have somewhere between 1-5 people they know who can help. Normally by
blowing away the system and reinstalling, but it's "help" of a sort ...
If someone is running Linux, they know *zero* people who can help.
It's really this simple.
And, let's be fair. This bites *Microsoft*, too. While everybody is
complaining about various "problems" in Vista, most people I trust just
shrug and say "it's different, that's all".
So, much of the resistance to upgrading to Vista is "But it's different"
masquerading as a litany of minor complaints.
