And don't forget that there's job security running windows. You know you'll
have to fix that same problem next month, because all Windows fixes are
temporary. The registery will get corrupted again, it will get another virus
or malware.

Linux just runs and runs and runs. I have about 100 machines running FC2 that
I'm responsible for and a few still running RH8. Most have been running for
years without a hitch, collecting data day in day out and recording it in
MySQL.
The windows boxes are locked down so tight, you couldn't slide a piece of
paper under them and they only allow the user to run a web browser. That's the
way we keep the running, but so far we've had to replace more Windows machines
than Linux machines, after two months, and the numbers are almost equal.
