1. I think I've seen that a number of you put the oil cooler on top, is that
right?

Mine is on top. Did not know there was any other way to do it. Most that I
have seen at the gatherings have them on top The advantages: Solve your
problem, and I think that it is easier to get cool air to it.

2. Are those of you with a Zenith 1821 (Great Plains) happy with that carb?

You are right, POSA is a miserable excuse for a carb. I had a Zenith and it
worked great, except it also has no REAL mixture control. I have seen a
Bing installed on a Jabiru and it looks good. The RevFlow and AeroCarb are
poor excuses for a carb also, but do "sort of" have a mixture control, they
are just a bear to get set right. The AeroCarb is what I am fighting with
now. Some people love it, some hate it.

3. Anyone have a survey of how many KRs fly with transponders?

The airspace that you normally fly in, will dictate this. It is a
convenience if you don't need it all the time, but if you usually fly in or
near airspace that requires it, then....

4. Anyone extremely opinionated about their choice of ELT? Looks like
either AmeriKing AK-450, or ACK Model E-01.

I chose mine based on price. What's to like or not like?

5. How many of you fly with just a handheld radio (and intercom,
headset adapter, PTT switch, etc.) and are happy with that choice?

My first KR, had a real radio. On this one, will be flying with a handheld,
but will eventually get a real radio. I just like having it in the panel.
