I'm pretty familiar with N5424N and the builder in Asheville NC - I went to purchase it in 2006 and the owner decided not to sell while filling out the papers. It was a sad day for me - the closest I've gotten to getting a KR2. My wife and I fit inside nicely too. :(
The airframe was donated to a non-profit last year without engine (FW forward) or instruments. The non-profit re-sold the airframe. Email me offline if you want to know more. I'd love to see pictures of the rejuvenated 5424N. Ben
