Two Customers with KX-TA824 phone systems. Four months ago, both systems [Greenwich, CT and White Plains, NY] responded to a waiting voice mail message with both the Stutter prior to dialtone AND to the Message light lit and the flashing Line light.
Now, the Greenwich system does not respond to any voice mail with any indication. A SL phone plugged into the Cable Modem responds with an audible stutter and a visual display. A small Panasonic portable base parallel to the 824 responds with both audible and visual. The modem is within a few feet of the KSU so there is not a line loss issue. The White Plains, system, now ONLY gives the visual [light blinks] but no audible stutter. A voltage reading at the cable modem shows the white plains system with two more volts DC when OFF HOOK than the Greenwich system. On Hook, the voltage is the same. Also, with only the SL phone connected to each system and a voltmeter, the voltage at stutter is 2 volts higher in White Plains than Greenwich. Cablevision claims that if the stutter is at the cable modem, they have no further responsibility. I claim they have lowered the output voltage of the modems. I have defaulted both systems and re loaded the programs. No change. Any thoughts? Bob Bruskin Halstead Electronics Ltd.
