Oops...looks like I didn't read the description of your problem well enough.

The first response and troubleshooting steps that I wrote to your problem,
would work if you were getting the "PRE-TRIPPING"
on the incoming calls.

In your case of getting "PRE-TRIPPING" on intercom calls to separate
extensions...my theory of a slight short on a data pair might still apply

here's what I might try next time it happens - disconnect all stations at
the ksu except extension 101. (**ext 101 should be the only station plugged
in at the ksu and make sure to disable "PARALLEL CONNECTION"at the phone for
ext 101 and also remove the slt phone if one is connected to ext 101 during
this test) - from 101 dial the ext number of the phone with the problem -
if the problem occurs then yes, you most likely have a faulty 624 cabinet or
expansion card. - if the "PRE-TRIPPING" does not happen, your problem is
most likely being caused by something outside of the system, so you can then
start plugging back in, one at a time, starting with the extension that you
are calling for this test - then continue with the extensions that have
SLT's, followed by the exts with a 7000 phone only - to see if one of them
causes the SLT to "PRE-TRIP". if you do find that one station run is
causing your problem to occur, then my first email response might help you
with your problem.

if you find that the problem is in the 624 cabinet - try initializing the
system instead of using program 999 to dump the data (a "HARD"
initialization of the system is better than dumping the data using program
999) - to init the system, shut off the power and move the clear switch to
the clear position - turn on the power - in about 5-10 seconds, when the
power LED begins to blink, with power still on, move the clear switch back
to the hold position. thats it! - your phones should come up within 30-45
seconds after moving the switch back to the hold position. **it is not
necessary to hit the reset switch during the initialization process** (the
clear switch in the 624 is located on the main circuit board about 3-4
inches below the Power LED)

Hope I got it rite this time!!

good luck - JOEL WEISER
