Is that the analog 1232 or digital?

Assuming that it's the digital system, when the button is programmed
properly, it will say VTR-165 when you press it (if phone is on hook). If it
says anything else then the button needs to be programmed.

If you have a new analog 1232, then I'm not sure what it does for vm
transfer.
