I'm absolutely astounded that folk in the UK no longer seem to have corned beef.! After all, where do you think we here in Australia got the idea from?

I know I certainly made it there in the early 70s, even if I did have to save up to buy it.

I guess it's similar to what we do here in the UK at Christmas when we boil or roast a large gammon joint which can be eaten hot, or cold perhaps on Boxing Day with pickles, salad etc and very useful for a big family gathering.
