Thanks, Bev - for starting an interesting thread that helps get us out of our summer doldrums! I confess that I'm doing more quilting than lacemaking at the moment - a fact that is attributed to my happy part-time employment in a quilt shop where I can make up shop samples to my heart's content - and not have to buy the fabric! Eventually, after the quilt has been on display for a while, I'll be able to bring it (them) home for "keeps" (I'm working on my second quilt, having done the first in just a few days last month. This one is significantly more difficult!!)
But I do get back to my pillow several times a week! I'm currently working on panel #1 from "HOOP" - the fabulous Binche piece which was worked to raise money for Cancer research. This section is tiny - only about 1.5" x maybe 3"... but it's worked in 140/2 cotton, and I currently have 148 bobbins on the pillow. It's not so difficult as it is tedious (because of the tiny scale) but I thrive on that kind of work, and I'm enjoying it immensely! So far, I've found the diagram to be excellent - accurate and easy to read. Those are the main things I want in a diagram!! I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Beryl Maw's new pattern pack! I am confident that once that's in my hands, I'll spend less time quilting, more time making lace!!
