Hi Karen, No patterns as far as I know, just high quality photos of the samples. Someone, Sally Barry, I think, has drafted some patterns and published a few over the years. Stephanie Peters has some more info on the original on her website if you google for it.
The pattern book comprises about twenty pages of small samples of mainly Bucks Point lace, with a few pieces of Bedfordshire, mounted on paper. The pages were in a leather bound book that originally belonged to a dealer, possibly John Spencer of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. Two of the pages are of black lace, the remainder are white. The book was used to show what lace was available for private order. Louise From: Karen M. And in the postcard section I found a set of Thomas Lester pattern designs, http://www.lutonculture.com/shop/shop/books-and-media/the-lace-dealers-patter n-book/ This is the first of a series of books showing collections from our museums. Are patterns to work the pieces of lace featured actually included? Karen in Malta - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here.
