The latin alphabet evolved because of the need to carve letters in blocks of granite. (Or so I've heard.) You may feel nostalgic for a while, but in the end, yesterday's "affront to our cultural heritage" will be tomorrow's "cherished traditions". :-) Not that I believe all giving in to technology is right. But I don't believe it's all wrong either.
