Thanks Michael. I did a "/usr/X11/bin/scanpci -v" command, and the following output shows that the wifi chipset is indeed a Broadcom BCM4318:
. . . pci bus 0x0005 cardnum 0x02 function 0x00: vendor 0x14e4 device 0x4318 Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller CardVendor 0x103c card 0x1355 (Hewlett-Packard Company, Card unknown) STATUS 0x0000 COMMAND 0x0006 CLASS 0x02 0x80 0x00 REVISION 0x02 BIST 0x00 HEADER 0x00 LATENCY 0x40 CACHE 0x00 BASE0 0xc0204000 addr 0xc0204000 MEM MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x00 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x03 BYTE_0 0x01 BYTE_1 0x00 BYTE_2 0xc2 BYTE_3 0x07 . . . I must admit that I had been so frustrated with trying to compile Ndiswrapper at one time (running SXCE 54b), I am still pretty allergic to it. I am running SXCE 69 now and will be more than happy to try it anew. Is there any new write-up to make this adventure painless (or more or less effortless)? Thanks again for your kind help.
