I had a similar problem. here is what I posted yesterday on the solarisonintel list:
Hello folks, I'm trying to configure a PCMCIA modem (actually an OPTION Globetrotter GPRS modem, but the problem occurs before this matters) on a SOLARIS10 laptop with the cardbus drivers from the opensolaris site. The systems finds the modem when I insert it and creates the devices. However if I try tip /dev/cua0 (or someting equivalent with kermit) the system freezes until I remove the card. Everithing then gets "normal" again. Here is what prtconf -v says about this device: serial, instance #0 Driver properties: name='interrupts' type=int items=1 dev=none value=00000001 name='reg' type=int items=6 dev=none value=24000000.00000000.00000000.21000000.00000000. 00000007 Hardware properties: name='device_type' type=string items=1 value='serial' name='model' type=string items=1 value='Option International,GSM/GPRS GlobeTrotter,001,A' name='socket' type=int items=1 value=00000000 name='compatible' type=string items=4 value='pccard,Option_International,GSM/GPRS_GlobeTr otter,001,A ' + 'pccard13,0' + 'pccard, serial' + 'serial' Register Specifications: Phys hi=0x24000000, Phys lo=0x0, Phys len=0 Phys hi=0x21000000, Phys lo=0x0, Phys len=7 Interrupt Specifications: Interrupt Priority=0x6 (ipl 6) Device Minor Nodes: dev=(191,0) dev_path=/pci at 0,0/pci8086,2448 at 1e/pci10cf,10e6 at a/se rial at 0:pcse r spectype=chr type=minor dev_link=/dev/term/pc0 dev=(191,128) dev_path=/pci at 0,0/pci8086,2448 at 1e/pci10cf,10e6 at a/se rial at 0:pcse r,cu spectype=chr type=minor dev_link=/dev/cua/pc0 Has anybody an idea about what might be wrong and what to do about it ?
