Florain and All, David is right. Let me remind you that Linus Torvalds didn't register Linux in the beginning. Later he and his friends had to suffer a lot and pay a very high price for that mistake. If my memory serves me right, it took them lots of money and about 2 years struggling in courts in order to prove that "Linux" is theirs. They were lucky and finally won the case and thus Linux became a trademark of Linus Torvalds. It's not just in the states. it's the same almost in all other countries in the world.
