I think he's saying that the laptops may not actually make it to the kids they're intended to serve. I can see the point, but I'm hopeful that the design is sufficiently kid-oriented that most of them will. I fiddled with the VMWare image a bit, too, and found it to be very, very different, and hard for me to use. That's not to say that it's a bad interface, in fact I think the logic behind it makes a lot of sense. It's just not what I'm used to.
