I apologize for my absence, I have some personal business that has been taking up most of my time at the present. :-(
In light of not catching the entire thread, I will give my 0.02. Most users, especially in a commercial environment are subscribed to the leaf-user and/or leaf-devel mailing lists. The leaf-announce list is seldom used and has few subscribers. If there is a security announcement to be made, we reach substantially more users making the announcement on the user and devel lists. It has worked without compliants until you brought up this thread. We "could" make these announcements on the leaf-announce list, or another list that would be more proper..... but why force you, me, and other people to subscribe to yet another list. You say that you do not plan on staying subscribed to the user/devel lists, well it sounds like you are making a personal choice in regards to the way we have been operating this site. We work mainly from other security announcement sites, so maybe the debian-security list will work more to your liking. I see no since in changing what "is working" for us because you do not want to delete a few extra emails everyday... you can always check the leaf mailing-list archives if the other options do not work to your liking. Simply put, the present system is working well for us.
