IPSec is a protocol, like TCP or UDP.  FreeS/WAN is an IPSec service that
runs on linux.

If you want your linux or LRP box to be a VPN gateway (encrypt and route
traffic over a VPN), install and configure FreeS/WAN's IPSec software (the
link you got in the last e-mail).

If you want to run IPSec software on a machine in the internal network
behind your firewall (FreeS/WAN on an internal linux box, PGP-Net or similar
on a windows box), you need to setup VPN masquerading on your firewall, so
the firewall knows how to properly masquerade the IPSec packets between the
internet and your protected network.
