I'm not sure about the alix board in particular, but I used to always just echo a bell character (<ctrl>-G) to the terminal. The Alix docs mention the buzzer driver logic is unpopulated by default on some boards...did you add that (or verify it's there)? I couldn't (quickly) find a full data-sheet on the CS5536 (the 'companion' device on the Alix board that generates the beep signal), but the 'overview' sheet lists legacy PC audio beep support, along with AC97 codec support, so I suspect the beep program (and most any other linux "beep the PC speaker" utility) /should/ work. You might also make sure the PC speaker device is enabled in the kernel, I haven't played with recent LEAF kernels enough to know if it's compiled in, a module, or just not there. If you're missing the kernel module, that could explain why you only get sound at power-on (from the BIOS). - -- Charles Steinkuehler char...@steinkuehler.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk163YsACgkQLywbqEHdNFyMgwCeLqai8GzGLdfM3ankSoVtxzVW bbUAn2MHF63/+/tIZW/+JJ810Pgo2x+S =7h0i -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Colocation vs. Managed Hosting A question and answer guide to determining the best fit for your organization - today and in the future. http://p.sf.net/sfu/internap-sfd2d ------------------------------------------------------------------------ leaf-user mailing list: leaf-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user Support Request -- http://leaf-project.org/
