Hello Bob, does this address match the configuration of your Fritzbox? (AFAIK the default address of the Fritzbox is 192.168.178.1.) Did you think about network addresses, routing and DHCP responsibilities with your two routers? (Do you use a different network address for eth1 etc. on your LEAF box? Does your LEAF box do NAT? ...) Does the Fritzbox know that you have a device with a static address? (Don't know if this is necessary.) Maybe you can try DHCP.
