I also notice that the fans seem disproportionately middle-aged when I watch
English games on TV: our games and Premier League games. How much of that is
down to the much greater ticket prices now compared to the early 1980s? The
kids have basically been priced out, it seems.

Cheers!

Over the last few months I have spoken to fans of both the Manchester teams who
have said exactly the same about their away fan base. I saw a picture of our
fans in the early 80s away from home and it was all teenagers/ early twenties,
all looking sharp in their best gear and flick hair cuts etcDave

I can't get to many away games because of the demand for tickets - but when I
do, boy is there a lot of grey hair ;)
