I agree. We are paying the price for not investing in a reliable goal scorer (and also, weirdly, for not seeming to care about using corners to our advantage). Play-off defeat to Derby again, anyone? Cheers! Sean -- Leeds fans more than most can be a pretty negative bunch, and whilst we are in a slightly better position than last year, there are also many similarities. It is a good job that football is not an exact science, otherwise it could be argued that making exactly the same mistakes as last year, will produce the same result. Such a small squad of senior players means an embarrassing lack of options to change the game on the bench, with no cover for injuries or opportunity to rest players. Even with 9 players on the bench, the only striker alternative to Bamford is also the only option at 10, when Hernandez is being nursed back in. The long term injury to Forshaw left us with no alternative/cover for Phillips. I would regard Shackleton as an alternative to Klich. No proper cover at Centre Back, Luckily Ayling, Berardi and Phillips have just about got away with it most of the time when called on. Another terrible winter transfer window, where we bolstered the ranks with a 12 year kid, and a bloke who never played, but we still might have to pay £18M for. A striker who is arguably the worst player in the team. Anyone could be excused for doubting we can see it through. Or at least fearing the worst. But looking at it positively Derby could be the day when we clinch promotion and deny them & Rooney a place in the play-offs. That would be sweet 😊 KOT.
