I think Farke’s team set up tells us one thing, and that is the players are knackered. He tried to manage that by being ultra cautious, limiting the running etc - yes, it was dull, but we’ve had other games like this too. Of course Sunderland did their job well, the ref was a wildcard no-one could have predicted, and 45 minutes of effort weren’t enough!
I think this was the tactic - I’m sure other managers will see it too, but hopefully we’ll be in full-on assault mode on Saturday and Blackburn will wilt under it?
