Dear Agony Aunt, I've been seeing this beautiful creature for 37 years now and we've had some great times together. We've had lows but worked through them previously, but I'm beginning to wonder if my love affair with what I thought would be a lifelong friend is beginning to come to an end!
Love StigOfTheWorriedDump Just moving away from the Killa issue for a moment, if possible, but the whole thing (Football that is, not just LUFC) is just being destroyed in front of my very eyes. I know we have to move with the times and 'the good old days' aren't really what you thought they were when you actually sit down and think about it, but just about every aspect of the game at the moment is not generating excitement or interest in me, just disappointment, dispair, revulsion and boredom. The professional game is about money, ego, greed and results. It used to be about clubs, people and football (Granted with a lot of ego's thrown in, but those ego's were at least interesting and/or funny - Robin Friday, Stan Bowles et al). The grassroots level is slowly being murdered before our very eyes by councils, bureaucrats and the increasing lack of provision of decent facilities with which to play on and coach kids with. And then to top it all, the club closest to my heart, the one I first watched beat Everton 3-2 on a three legged stool in the Scratching Shed in 1971 is just, put simply and not too subtely, shite! A less than rosy future and only distant memories of any good times. Almost destroyed by dillusions of grandeur and the previously mentioned and stenching the game out throughout GREED. Someone please tell me ... Whats the bloody point? _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
