Sean, then please tell me which one of the top clubs in Europe will be purchasing Mr. Healy...regardless of the fee? Come on...how about list 10 and we can see if he goes to ANY of them...and I mean clubs that would be in the running to buy one of Europe's top strikers...so NOT Aston Villa, Everton, Birmingham, Fulham, Man City, Boro, etc. As for Gudjohnsen...wasn't he ALSO a proven goalscorer in the Prem with Chelsea...not a sometimes scorer for a team relegated from the Championship when he went to Barcelona. And give Bates a break...surely Healy if he believes as you do that he is one of the top strikers in Europe will not want to stay in the league we're in when he could be gracing the playing turf at Old Trafford, Anfield, San Siro, etc...and playing in the Champions League. I bet you Fergiscum, Wenger, Mourinho, etc are super excited to poach Super David Healy for cheap...ha, ha, ha, ha! Let's wait until the end of Summer when I have no doubt I'll be proven correct...Healy will NOT be sold to one of the top teams in Europe for 5 million or more. Why, not because they can't afford him but because the top teams won't rate him. So let's drop the hypothetical arguement and what for the facts to sort themselves out.

I don't think it matters who you play FOR when it comes to scoring goals, it
matters how many you score and against whom. Healy has been scoring at will
at the highest level in Europe - the European Championship - against top
teams. The fact that he's playing for Northern Ireland only increases his value, as everyone will figure that it takes a special striker to score hat tricks for a small, unfancied side like that. Or do you reckon Eidur Gudjohnssen is
crap because he also comes from a small, northern European country?
As for us not being a strong seller - surely we are. Healy is on contract.
We have no need to sell. Bates has been telling us for ages that we're no
longer a selling club, and that now he's been given the control of the club we've turned the corner. Surely he couldn't have been lying about that, could he? I mean, if Healy only matches your valuation of 1.5 million, that means he's worth only three-quarters of what each of those two kids who went to Chelsea brought in. How do you figure that? Do you really think those kids are each
that much better than Healy? Again, I say that I will judge Bates (who,
according to his supporters, never, ever lets Leeds get ripped off) by how much he
manages to get for Healy.
