Last night Caspar went down after about 35 minutes, clearly injured and needing treatment, he threw the ball to a Leeds player indicating for it to be kicked into touch. 2 Leeds players tried to kick it into touch and missed. It took a Hereford player to play the ball into touch. That's how good we were last night.
I'm not going to do a long report because its not worth it. Hereford were worth the win - all good luck to them - they had a least three one-on-ones with the keeper and some other good half chances. Had a couple of forwards we really couldn't deal with and people tell me it was the same in the first game. We made a few chances but apart from one scramble off their line I can't remember us threatening all that much. Heath and Huntington had shockers, Richardson and Parker were a little better. Hughes was all effort but also a sending off waiting to happen - really brainless. Howson and Carole flitted in and out - sometimes effective (mainly by virtue of passing to team mates, something almost no-one else on the side managed). Beckford threatened sometimes, Kandol did not - and Constantine was no better. Westlake was mainly anonymous. It was dreadful. Coming out of the ground we pondered whether this was the true level of the team and its only because that momentum got rolling in the early weeks that somehow keeps us winning - in spite of our limitations - because we were woeful last night. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
