"If Sainsbury's (for instance) decide to pay their CEO £100K per week with
no performance targets (and I fully agree with your point that Sainsbury's
never would) then simply because you may buy an occasional packet of
biscuits from them, they are not spending your money, but their own.

Unless the FA is partly funded from public funds then it is their money to
do as they see fit with"

It is aazing how people see things entirely different but as I see it the FA
should be running football for the benefit of football and the England
national side is merely one aspect of it.
I am of the opinion that the FA have destroyed the image of the national
side by their antics.
I believe if they allocated £ 16 million to grass roots football and
requested applications for the England anagers job at a salary of 1 million
a year with bonuses they would have a better chance of getting the right man
for the job.
Fabio Capello and Sven aongst any would not be applying.
FC is in it for the money, of course that does not mean he wont do the
job............

Not wishing to argue with you, nor even necessarily disagree with you,
except on one point....

Why do you think what the FA pays it's staff with someone else's money?
Who's money is it exactly?

The FA is not at all like the government who IS playing with OUR money - the
FA are using the money they charge clubs to be a member of the FA and mosey
they get from TV for the FA cup and a whole myriad of other charges they may
make - you may indeed have contributed to this money by attending games,
buying an England shirt or whatever, but it is not still YOUR money.

If Sainsbury's (for instance) decide to pay their CEO £100K per week with no
performance targets (and I fully agree with your point that Sainsbury's
never would) then simply because you may buy an occasional packet of
biscuits from them, they are not spending your money, but their own.

Unless the FA is partly funded from public funds then it is their money to
do as they see fit with

Cheers

Steve

If you want the best* you pay for it. That's life."
