Realistically what's the worst case scenario?

Bates continues to obfuscate and the Football League (who have to act or they are busted) could impose sanctions as the club do not meet FL rules re fit and proper test if they don't clear this one up. Most likely Bates will fudge it with shed loads of legalese and try to force the FL's hand. If Bates wasn't the owner when he took over and he isn't now, then the FL need to know who is. As to whether they wish to go all the way on this one I'm not sure. Mawhinney might, but he isn't an FL Club Chairman - the rest of his organisation are.

The Dept For Business and HMRC have a strong interest in this too. If Bates is actually the owner then the administration was at best flawed, if he's not then they will want to be told who is.

There's political capital to be made out of this so expect sniping/briefing from the sides.

As for Bates all he ever does is destabilise the club. Fact. What we want is the kind of regime that allows steady advancement back to the Premier League. So far he has not fully provided for that, which is why I and many others say Bates does not have the best interests of the club (and therfore the fans) at heart.

We have shown that we can present the right attitude on the pitch to achieve greater things, off the pitch this is not so. And blaming Krasner/Ridsdale/Sky/Woodgate/Leeds City Council/Ray Fell/Me etc.. doesn't wash now. The honeymoon ended a long long time ago.
