This result is exactly what we should be expecting, we don't have a god
given right to win or to get promotion, no-one does. Hartlepool may not
be the most glamorous of clubs but they are often a team we struggle
against, admittedly we've never lost but an away point is not to be
scoffed at wherever it's earned at.

You'd have played the reserves on Wednesday, and thus defrauded 32000
REAL Leeds United fans who'd paid their hard earned to watch their team
square up to the fancy dans.
Better to stay away from the "REAL" fans argument.
Paul makes some good points, BUT I still feel there is a very valid argument
that can be constructed that the cup(s) have done us no favors at all. Of
course, it's not "provable" on either side, but this season without
promotion is an unmitigated disaster, and if that were to happen I think
that pointing to the distraction of the cups would be both appropriate and
have some meaning.
