  Thanks Bill
  But No way!
If you would like, I can help you, or "anyone" do it for there self's, That's
not why Im here.
Besides that,There is to much liability in that kind of business, combined
with the cost of material plus the equipment needed , I just don't see any way
to make a profit.
But on the other hand! If everyone out there can do it for there self's,(
with perhaps a little guidance.) then the products that you all will make will
then be true works of art.You cant buy that with money! ($$$) ;-)

Please forgive me, Im very tired. This project is for free to those who want
to make it. Now then! If I can make this OT lathe attachment, or my quick
acting gear box for the legacy, then just perhaps there can be some money
exchanged of those deals. (or not!) as I said, Its late. ;-)
  have a good night.

      Hello Everyone.
Its been a crazy couple of weeks around here for me. Christmas is coming!
What make things worse is I have a lot of projects to get done, besides the
normal holiday stuff. I will be posting pictures of my new puppet stage in a
day or two.

What this is, Is a quick change directional gear changer For my Legacy.
(This is the main reason that I have not been posting in the mornings, I've
been going to work at 3 am to work on this, every day last week.)
I need to make a way to change directional feed on my Legacy with out
taking everything apart.(TIME IS MONEY, OR JUST TIME WASTED! in my case)
It is a simple concept. swing an extra gear into the duplex gear to
change direction. but As most simple things go, it was not quite that easy, My
first attempt used the gears form the original directional gear sets that
legacy makes. The problem was distance between the gears, I could not get a
large gear and a small gear to mesh with all the gear settings that my legacy
uses, if I made it side by side like the right handed set the legacy uses, I
did not have enough room for some of the larger pitch or drive gears, and if I
went smaller, then the smaller gears would not touch with in the gear
adjustment.
As is said, (I think I did?) this set works!!! ;-)
But I can see some minor problems with this set-up, One namely the clamp
that Im using to control the gears movement.
The lock position is good, but when not locked the clamp could move if
bumped.( that would be nasty! both gears touching at the same time, I don't
want to think about the possible damage that would cause!) I will work on a new
clamping lock to start with, and if that doesn't work I will remove the clamp
and add a screw locking adjustment. (More to come on that!)

Thanks to Big Tim on this project, The idea was mine ( I think??? )
first. but it was Tim's gear's that realy saved My day.
I bought a number of gears form Tim a while ago.
Anyhow like I said earlier the gear size was the problem, so what I did
was use Legacy's single (60T) gear and one of Tim's 72T gears to make the
changer work.

First I needed to drill and press in a precisions gear into the 72T gear.
(that was fun, and not as hard as you might think.More on that topic latter.)
Then I need to make the SS guard, and make a bracket to hold the hole set
up. the bracket needed to be rectangle in shape to hold the locking mechanism.
A slot needed to be added for the adjustment lock on the Legacys gear pivit arm
set up,and a pivot point need to be drilled for my gear changer. Most of the
measurements came from the Legacy directional gear set, with one difference
being to position of the hole compared to the original, the hole (pivot point)
I made a little lower, Thinking that It would fix the problems I had on earlier
attempt. The ark of the Duplex gear had to be compensated for, something that
I did not think of on my first attempt, (using the smaller gear.)

Woops! I need to go. (Christmas stuff! )
      Here are the pictures.
Please let me know what you think? If you have any incites, Please let me
know.
      have a good day! ;-)
      C.A.G.
