This is where a "sort date" might provide the answer to what Ron wants, and
what I want.
A non-printing Sort Date would be entered in addition to the "real" date,
making it sort permanently into the chronology wherever you want or need it.
You only have to enter it once. It never appears in any kind of output, and
can be changed at will.
I don't *always* want everything sorted chronologically - but it is
certainly more often the case.
What do you think, Ron?

And I don't wish to have to remember to unsort those events which I do not
wish to be sorted by date. At least with the present system three clicks
of the mouse and all events are sorted by date. I would have to find the
pages I don't want sorted in that manner and then change them individually
as there is no way that someone can write a program to do it in a few
clicks.

I was glad to find the little box to check inside the repair function -
sort by date.
It *does* sort by date, but the sort function isn't self-perpetuating. In
other words, it sorts the events presently in the database, but does not
set my future preference to continue sorting by date. The next time I
enter an event, I again have to click the sort by date button.
