A friend of mine was in charge of a reunion a couple of weeks ago. She did as much work as she could ahead of time to update the family tree, then printed out one of those huge family charts.  She didn't want to take a laptop and have to manage that.  She said people were quite busy with their pens making additions and corrections to the big chart, and many have contacted her afterwards with more information.  It would probably be easier to have separate charts for different parts of the family, but she got a lot of good information.
